Why this site exists
Search for the Marble Caves and the guides that come back disagree about nearly everything. One dates the caves at 6,000 years old; the geologist who studied them says 10,000 to 15,000. One calls the lake the third-largest in South America; it is the second. Prices float between posts written years apart, and almost nobody mentions the fact that decides more trips than any other: the wind, and what it does to a small boat schedule on a glacial lake.
None of the correct answers are secret. They live in the operators' own listings, in dated traveller reports and in published geology. Putting them next to each other, with dates attached, is the entire job of this site.
Where the facts come from
Tour prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions and age limits are read off each operator's own listing on the date shown on the page, in US dollars. Every tour page carries the same fields in the same order. Tour listing checked: August 2026.
Sanctuary rules, access and transport information are checked against official Chilean tourism information and recent first-hand visitor reports, and dated where they appear. Walk-up pier prices come from a published traveller price check of November 2025 and are marked as such. Traveller feedback reviewed: more than 125 verified reviews.
Review quotes carry the reviewer's name, country and travel month exactly as published, critical notes included. We do not write testimonials.
What we do not do
We do not ride the tours, meet the guides, paddle the routes or audit safety records. Judging whether the lake is safe to cross on a given morning takes someone standing at the pier, and that is the job of the operator you book with.
We also do not take your booking. Every Check Availability button sends you to the platform the operator sells on, where the price, the terms and the cancellation window are theirs.
How the site pays for itself
Links to tours on this site are affiliate links. If you book through one, the platform pays us a commission and you pay the same price you would pay going there directly.
That arrangement pays for the research and nothing else. It does not decide which tours appear, what order they sit in, or what we say about them. The cheapest tour on the homepage earns us the least, and it is the one we point budget travellers toward first.
Corrections
Prices in Chilean pesos move, operators come and go, and lake rules can change. If something here is out of date, write to us and tell us what you found and when you were there. We would rather fix a number than defend it.
